Job summary

Trustmark National Bank seeks a Retail Staff Underwriter II to support the retail and wholesale loan platform, providing underwriting guidance and scenario answers based on GSE guidelines. You will help retail and TPO originators, maintain a small decision-ready loan pipeline, and review appraisals for final approval.

Responsibilities include staying updated on investor guidelines, addressing QC/QA issues, and collaborating with management on exceptions, while delivering strong customer service

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5 years underwriting FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, USDA and VA loans.
• FHA DE certification required.
• VA SAR certification required.
• Experience with DeskTop Underwriter system.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• College education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to retail and TPO originators and processors on guidelines and income scenarios.
• Maintain a small loan pipeline for final approval based on delegations.
• Review appraisals for final approval including NOVs and USDA/HFS conditions.
• Stay updated and attend refresher training on investor guidelines.
• Review and respond to management for QC/QA exceptions.
• Other duties as assigned.
