Job summary

Smart & Final is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Construction for its Store Support Center in Commerce, CA. The role oversees new construction and remodel projects, ensuring adherence to plans, schedules, and budgets while aligning with corporate policies and strategic plans.

Responsibilities include on-site inspections, contractor coordination, cost estimation, permits coordination, and close-out documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college; 5–10 years of related commercial/retail construction administration experience is required.
Construction project management certification or similar certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

Perform initial and ongoing on-site inspections and meetings with contractors to ensure adherence to plans, schedule, and budget.
Coordinate with architect and Store Design to ensure building plans meet local requirements prior to permits and bidding.
Review construction estimates for conformance to approved budgets and maintain project budget summaries.
Coordinate between General Contractor, suppliers, and internal Smart & Final departments to ensure timely delivery and installation of components.
Manage punch-list items and warranty walkthroughs with contractors and vendors; document close-out records.
Provide weekly status reporting to senior construction leadership.
