Job summary

Brookfield Properties in Chicago is seeking a Sr. Tenant Restaurant Coordinator to oversee end-to-end restaurant tenant build-outs, from deal approval to store opening and post-occupancy.

The role ensures design, construction, and turnover milestones meet company standards and lease requirements, driving early store openings. Responsibilities include coordinating with tenant teams, internal departments, and external partners, reviewing lease documents, and maintaining accurate project updates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Construction Management preferred.
• 3–5 years of multi-site restaurant project management, retail/restaurant tenant coordination, restaurant design, construction management, or related field required.
• Solid understanding of construction documents, design specifications, materials, and building systems required.
• Familiarity with national building codes, building materials and systems such as MEP systems, and life safety standards required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven with strong leadership potential.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate and negotiate effectively across teams and with external partners.
• Yardi experience are a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with tenant design and construction teams; provide guidance throughout the build-out.
• Serve as central contact for all phases of tenant build-outs, supporting permitting, submittals, approvals, construction and turnover timelines.
• Coordinate with internal teams to align on lease terms, drawings, timing, and scope of work.
• Review lease documents, LODs, and lease plans; direct updates for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor tenant design/construction schedules; ensure alignment with budgets and early openings.
• Maintain real-time project updates in electronic tracking systems across departments.
• Provide Leasing with upfront design details to support negotiations (drawings, LODs, space conditions).
• Conduct electronic reviews of tenant concept, signage, and construction drawings for alignment with standards.
