Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board; must be registered (RRT) by NBRC; CRT with RRT exam candidates may qualify.
• Two (2) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Certifications may include ACLS, NRP, PALS, CPFT, or other approved credentials depending on practice area.

Responsibilities

• Administers standard Respiratory Care including aerosol delivery, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, oxygen therapy, and arterial punctures.
• Manages airway care including tracheostomy care and ventilator setup/weaning as needed.
• May be on-call days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Serves as a resource to other staff and maintains/updates knowledge with continuing education.
