Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist 2 to join our team. This full-time role offers a 36-hour work week with weekends from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM and includes sign-on and relocation bonuses.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited CoARC respiratory care program.
• Six months in a critical care environment or one year of specialized training in advanced diagnostics/pulmonary rehabilitation as a practicing Respiratory Therapist.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or NBRC with extensive experience; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS or NRP) or must obtain within one year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA required on start.
• Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS or NRP) must be obtained within one year from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and manages basic mechanical ventilation with commonly used ventilators; handles more complex ventilation with supervision.
• Performs weaning mechanics with high proficiency in ventilated patients.
• Reviews need for continued ventilator support and develops ventilator care plans.
• Formulates a care plan based on diagnostics, therapy response, and patient data.
• Administers advanced respiratory therapies with proficiency and supervision as needed.
