Duke Raleigh Hospital, a campus of Duke University Health System, seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner I to perform and evaluate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures across neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients. Join a team delivering advanced care at Duke Raleigh Campus in Raleigh, NC and contribute to multidisciplinary rounds and specialized procedures.

Position requires an AMA-approved respiratory care program (associate degree or equivalent), NC licensure, and certification in BLS, ACLS,

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year AMA approved respiratory care program (associate’s degree or the equivalent).
• Maintain annual skill maintenance requirements; safety/compliance requirements; NC license CEUs.
• Must maintain North Carolina State Licensure Registry (RRT) NBRC certification as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate appropriateness of medical orders; proficient in ventilator modalities.
• Perform endotracheal intubation under supervision.
• Administer medical gases and manage airway devices; assist with extubation.
• Participate in clinical rounds with physicians, nurses and other health care providers.
• Assist with bronchoscopy and orientation/training of Level II RT.
• Ensure safe operation of devices in MRI; comply with scope of practice.
