Job summary

AdventHealth in Orange City, Florida is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to deliver advanced respiratory care in an acute care setting. You will supervise and train staff, manage ventilator settings, monitor ABG results, and coordinate patient care across shifts.

The role requires NBRC credential maintenance, 3+ years in hospital respiratory therapy, and strong patient communication. Night shifts, full-time schedule, and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of respiratory therapy or equivalent training.
• 3+ years of hospital experience as an RRT.
• NBRC credential must be maintained as a condition of continued eligibility.
• Demonstrates strong clinical skills and leadership potential.
• Ability to work in acute care and manage arterial blood gases and ventilator settings.

Responsibilities

• Recommends changes in respiratory care plans based on medical necessity and protocols.
• Instructs and coaches patients before, during, and after treatment.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation and reevaluates patient/ventilator interface every four hours.
• Monitors progress and documents thoroughly.
• Provides training and supervision to staff and students.
• Performs diagnostic procedures (ventilation, ABG, ETT).
• Responds to emergencies and ensures patient safety.
