Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Respiratory Therapist for the Cabarrus Respiratory Therapy Services department. The role is full-time with a 36-hour weekly schedule and a nights shift, eligible for a sign-on bonus. Requires RRT credential, licensure, and BLS; Bachelor's preferred.

The position focuses on ventilator management, oxygen delivery, emergency respiratory care, and documentation in the EMR system, supporting a comprehensive patient care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Associate's degree in Respiratory Care is required; RRT credential preferred.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support for healthcare providers through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Operates oxygen delivery modes and devices to achieve adequate oxygenation.
• Administers prescribed respiratory procedures and explains benefits and risks.
• Performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators and monitors patient status.
• Evaluates therapies and recommends plans of care.
• Documents therapy results and communicates with the healthcare team.
• Implements respiratory care techniques in emergencies.
• Performs blood gas sampling and interprets results.
• Works independently across patient care areas and assists colleagues.
• Follows safety and regulatory requirements.
• Completes annual proficiency evaluations and uses EMR interfaces.
