Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner III to provide comprehensive respiratory care across med-surg, ED, and critical care units. This role requires a licensed RRT with active Illinois license and BLS; ACLS/NRP/PALS are preferred depending on unit needs.

You will precept students, participate in LEAD projects, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes while supporting department initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3 Years of Experience in respiratory care (hospital setting)
• Bachelor's Degree and Graduated from an Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with active license in Illinois
• BLS required; ACLS/NRP/PALS preferred/required depending on unit
• ACCS and/or RPFT and/or AE-C and/or NPS certifications encouraged

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to acutely ill patients on med-surg, ED, and critical care units.
• Deliver, monitor, and adjust prescribed respiratory therapies.
• Educate patients and families on disease management and resources.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Precept students and new hires; support department initiatives and LEAD projects.
