Job summary

The role requires an associate degree in respiratory therapy, RRT certification, Maryland licensure, CPR, and 2 years of experience; bachelor's degree and ACLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor's preferred in Respiratory Therapy.
• Registration as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required.
• Maryland licensure as a Respiratory Care practitioner is required.
• CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of respiratory care treatments for adults, children, and neonates.
• Explains treatments to patient/family prior to procedures.
• Monitors signs, symptoms, and patient response to therapy.
• Collaborates with physicians on therapy plans and adjustments.
• Assists with CPR and airway management as needed.
• Delivers gases, bronchodilators, chest physiotherapy, aerosols per protocol.
• Operates and maintains ventilators, CPAP, oximeters and related equipment.
• Documents patient data, ABG results, lab values and progress.
• Provides supervision and instruction to interns/students per policy.
