Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner II (Registered) to join our hospital team. The role requires clinical competence in respiratory care across all patient types, including neonatal and pediatric populations, with a focus on inhaled therapies and ventilation management.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's Degree or approved certificate, an RRT credential, Maryland licensure, and BCLS certification, with at least one year of RRT

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or approved certificate program in respiratory care.
• One year of experience as an RRT.
• Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Maryland Board of Physician Quality Assurance.
• NBRC credential as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BCLS).

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned caseload and respond to emergent patient needs as part of the department team.
• Perform respiratory care treatments for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients per protocol or LIP order.
• Administer gases, aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, and invasive/non-invasive ventilation with correct ventilator settings.
• Document patient care activities in electronic health records.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and staff education.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
