Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of title searching/examining experience, including refinance and resale transactions; California experience required.
• Strong customer service focus is essential.
• Proficient typing speed of 55 WPM or higher.

Responsibilities

• Perform title examination and examine the chain of title for residential orders.
• Abstract and analyze records such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat/map books to verify ownership and legal description.
• Resolve missing information, incomplete or contradictory information in title documents.
• Prepare initial title commitment documents according to procedural guidelines.
• Copy or summarize recorded documents affecting title status and provide underwriting interpretation within guidelines.
