Socket.dev in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Roofing Service Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and resolve residential roofing concerns. You will identify root causes of leaks, determine corrective actions, and ensure lasting solutions in the field.

The role requires strong hands-on knowledge of roofing systems, the ability to work independently, and clear communication with customers and teams. A high school diploma or GED is required, with 5+ years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years of hands-on residential roofing experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of residential roofing systems, installation, repair and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose root causes and communicate findings clearly to customers and teams.
• Ability to work independently in the field with a diagnostic mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive inspections of residential roofing systems to identify leaks, damage, install deficiencies, and potential failure points.
• Diagnose the source and root cause of water intrusion and other roofing concerns.
• Perform roofing repairs, maintenance, and corrective work per manufacturer specs and industry best practices.
• Inspect shingles, flashing, penetrations, decking, underlayment, ventilation, gutters, siding, and related exterior components.
• Evaluate roof penetrations and components associated with residential solar installations.
• Determine whether conditions can be repaired or require larger corrective work.
• Identify contributing workmanship, material, structural, ventilation, or exterior conditions.
• Develop clear repair recommendations and identify materials, labor, and resources required to complete the work.
• Complete quality-control inspections to verify workmanship and identify corrective actions.
