Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Resident Engineer in Connecticut with a focus on highway, bridge and rail construction management. You’ll lead the construction management team, oversee reporting, and drive safety and quality on projects.

The role requires strong communication, permit coordination, and collaboration with clients and authorities. The ideal candidate has 15+ years of relevant experience, Civil engineering background, and CT PE license or reciprocity.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of highway/bridge/rail or transportation construction management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Civil.
• CT PE license or reciprocity (CCM may be accepted).

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction management team and oversee record-keeping, reporting, and meeting minutes.
• Monitor contractor performance, scheduling, quality, and safety controls.
• Review and approve shop drawings, contractor schedules, permits, and inspection requirements.
• Prepare change orders for overruns and added work.
• Coordinate submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings with designers.
• Foster a safety culture and ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
• Communicate with the public and stakeholders about project impacts.
• Coordinate with clients and other authorities on multi-agency projects.
