Placements24 seeks a Senior Reservoir Engineer in Welkom, Free State to optimize production and maximize hydrocarbon recovery. You will analyze field data, model scenarios, and lead EOR and injection initiatives in collaboration with drilling and production teams.

The role requires 7+ years in reservoir engineering, proficiency with Harmony/Eclipse/Petrel, and a strong background in decline curve analysis and reservoir simulation. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline required.
• Minimum 7 years in reservoir engineering with focus on production optimization and field development.
• Experience in production data analysis, decline curve analysis and reservoir simulation.
• Familiarity with artificial lift systems (ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift).
• Knowledge of EOR methods and related workflows.
• Proficient in Harmony, Eclipse and Petrel; strong analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Analyze well and field production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and implement production optimization strategies, including artificial lift optimization and injection management.
• Perform decline curve analysis and forecasting for existing reservoirs.
• Use reservoir simulations to model scenarios and evaluate impacts.
• Assess potential EOR projects and provide technical input.
• Collaborate with production engineers to troubleshoot operations and optimize wells.
• Conduct economic evaluations for recompletion, workovers and infill drilling.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for management.
• Mentor junior reservoir engineers and share knowledge.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
