Our client, a major Oil & Gas operator, seeks a Senior Production Optimization Engineer to work remotely with occasional travel to regional hubs including Rustenburg. The role focuses on maximizing hydrocarbon recovery and improving the efficiency and economics of production facilities through advanced analytics, process simulation, and innovative optimization methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in production engineering within Oil & Gas, focused on optimization.
• Expertise in artificial lift systems and production system analysis.
• Familiarity with production simulation software and data analysis techniques.
• Strong problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to operational sites.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production data to identify underperforming assets and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and implement artificial lift optimization strategies (e.g., ESP, rod pumps, gas lift).
• Perform wellbore performance analysis and troubleshoot production issues.
• Model and optimize flow assurance and surface facilities using production simulation software.
• Evaluate and recommend interventions such as workovers, stimulation, and facility upgrades.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers, geologists, and operations teams to develop integrated production plans.
• Monitor production KPIs and report on performance trends and optimization project outcomes.
• Mentor junior production engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the technical community.
