Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Production Operations Manager to lead a hybrid role overseeing oil and gas production in the Welkom, Free State region. You will drive safety, efficiency, and cost control while guiding a team of production engineers and field staff from on-site and remote locations.

You will optimize production output, manage budgets, and coordinate with drilling, reservoir, and facilities teams to ensure asset integrity and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in oil and gas production operations.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory/management role.
• Experience with production facilities and field operations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of oil and gas production operations in the designated area.
• Develop and implement production strategies to maximize output and minimize downtime.
• Manage and mentor the production operations team, fostering a culture of safety and high performance.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
• Monitor and analyze production data to identify optimization opportunities.
• Manage operational budgets, controlling costs and meeting financial targets.
• Oversee maintenance programs and asset integrity initiatives for production facilities.
• Coordinate with drilling, reservoir, and facilities engineering teams for integrated projects.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
• Prepare regular operational reports for senior management.
