Job summary
Placements24's client in the mining and energy resource sector seeks a Senior Reservoir Engineer to join a dedicated team in Welkom, Free State. The role focuses on detailed analysis, modeling, and management of underground reservoirs to optimize extraction and ensure sustainable operations.
You will lead reservoir characterization, perform simulations with ECLIPSE/CMG/PETREL RE, and collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and production engineers.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on reservoir engineering experience.
- Experience with reservoir simulation software.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed reservoir models using simulation software.
- Analyze geological and production data to estimate reserves and forecast performance.
- Design reservoir management strategies to maximize recovery.
- Evaluate economic viability of development projects and infill drilling.
- Perform decline curve analyses and material balance calculations.
- Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and engineers to integrate data.
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to management.
- Stay current with advancements in reservoir engineering techniques.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and environmental standards.
