Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Renewable Energy Electrical Engineering Lead to guide the design and delivery of solar, BESS, and PV+BESS projects from Buffalo and other locations. You will lead technical teams, mentor engineers, and drive efficient, compliant electrical designs.

The role requires 7+ years in renewable energy electrical engineering, PE eligibility, and strong NEC/IEEE knowledge. Expect multi-site coordination across utilities, government, and private clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required.
• 7+ years in electrical engineering for renewable energy projects.
• PE license or able to obtain within 1 year.
• Strong knowledge of NEC/IEEE/NESC codes.
• Experience with PV interconnection design and grid connections.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-site design and due diligence for solar, BESS, and PV+BESS projects.
• Develop DC and LV/MV designs, including protection and control schemes.
• Review calculations, prepare reports and drawings to industry standards.
• Manage design teams, budgets, hours, and project schedules.
• Coordinate with clients, regulators, and subcontractors across locations.
• Ensure safety, QA/QC, and regulatory compliance throughout projects.
• Prepare presentations and data visualizations for stakeholders.
