Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Structural Engineer to join a virtual team. You will handle structural analysis, design, and detailing for residential, commercial, and industrial projects from anywhere in South Africa.

The role requires Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA, 6+ years of experience, and proficiency in SAP2000/ETABS/Revit Structure, with a strong command of SANS regulations. Collaboration with architects and engineers is essential for project success.

Qualifications

• PE (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Minimum of 6 years of structural engineering design experience for buildings.
• Proficient in SAP2000, ETABS, Revit Structure or similar software.
• Strong knowledge of SANS and South African building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for various building types using advanced engineering software.
• Produce detailed structural drawings, specifications, and reports for construction purposes.
• Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines through virtual communication channels.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs from construction sites.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes and standards (e.g., SANS).
• Conduct peer reviews of designs and calculations to maintain quality assurance.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance as needed.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in structural engineering software and design techniques.
• Manage project deadlines and deliverables effectively in a remote work setting.
