Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer for a fully remote role focused on leading structural design for civil infrastructure projects. You will perform advanced analysis, develop drawings and reports, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-profile projects.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in structural engineering, with strong software proficiency (STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS) and familiarity with SA codes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, focused on civil infrastructure.
Proven expertise in structural analysis and design software.
In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards (South Africa).

Responsibilities

Lead the structural design of bridges, buildings, water retaining structures, and industrial facilities.
Perform complex structural analysis and design calculations using industry-standard software.
Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports per codes and standards.
Review designs prepared by others for quality and accuracy.
Collaborate with geotechnical engineers, architects, and project managers digitally.
Provide mentorship to junior staff.
Manage project timelines and deliverables in a remote setting.
Contribute to tender preparation and proposal development.
Undertake site visits as required (remote role).
