Job summary

Celanese is seeking a Senior Polymer Processing Specialist to solve complex polymer processing challenges for customers across industries. This remote-enabled role targets ideal candidates located in MI, IL, WI, MN, IN or OH, with frequent travel up to 80%.

You will design experiments, analyze processing variables, and document results in our standardized forms, collaborating with product, commercial and customer teams to deliver actionable recommendations and build lasting partnerships.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of polymer processing experience required; BS in related discipline preferred.
• Hands-on experience operating injection molding equipment; other methods a plus.
• Expertise in polymer materials and plastics processing; OEM/tiers experience a plus.
• Proficiency with design/engineering tools and process simulation a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% to customer or Celanese sites.

Responsibilities

• Solve customer polymer processing issues utilizing fundamental polymer knowledge, polymer processing skills, and intuition.
• Independently design experiments to determine the effect of polymer processing variables on our materials and the customer product.
• Document key results and processing parameters used during engagements into our standardized form and upload to our repository.
• Understand appropriate polymer analytical testing connecting results to polymer processing, chemistry, and customer observations.
• Interface with product teams to support new product development.
• Collaborate closely with commercial team on customer projects keeping them updated on status and concerns.
• Aid in developing processing recommendations of new and existing products for customers.
• Develop strong relationships with customers to aid in Celanese being the partner of choice.
