Job summary

Celanese Engineered Materials is seeking a Field Technical Service engineer with strong polymer processing experience to join the Americas FTS organization. Remote position, with ideal locations including MI, IL, WI, MN, IN or OH.

You will independently design experiments, solve processing issues, and document key results while collaborating with product teams and customers to support new product development and processing recommendations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of polymer processing experience; BS in related discipline preferred.
• Hands-on experience operating injection molding equipment; other processing methods a plus.
• Expertise in polymer materials and plastics processing; OEMs or tier support is a plus.
• Proficiency with engineering tools such as CAD/CAE or process simulation is beneficial.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% to customer or Celanese sites.

Responsibilities

• Solve customer polymer processing issues using fundamental polymer knowledge and processing skills.
• Independently design experiments to study effects of processing variables on materials and products.
• Document key results and processing parameters in standardized forms and repository.
• Connect polymer analytical testing results to processing, chemistry, and observations.
• Interface with product teams to support new product development and collaborate with commercial teams.
