Job summary

Celanese is seeking a senior polymer processing specialist to help solve customer processing issues, design experiments, and translate results into practical recommendations. You will work with polymer materials specialists and product teams to drive value for our customers.

The role requires hands-on experience with polymer molding, including injection molding, and willingness to travel up to 80% to customer sites or Celanese locations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of polymer processing experience required.
• BS in related discipline preferred; scientific molding certification is a plus.
• Hands on experience operating injection molding equipment; other processing methods are a plus.
• Expertise in polymer materials and plastics processing; OEMs or tiers experience is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% to customer or Celanese sites.

Responsibilities

• Solve customer polymer processing issues utilizing fundamental polymer knowledge, processing skills, and intuition.
• Independently design experiments to determine effects of processing variables on materials and customer product.
• Document key results and processing parameters in our standardized form and upload to repository.
• Understand polymer analytical testing and connect results to processing, chemistry, and observations.
• Interface with product teams to support new product development.
• Collaborate with the commercial team on customer projects and status updates.
• Aid in developing processing recommendations of new and existing products for customers.
• Develop strong relationships with customers to position Celanese as partner of choice.
