Job summary

Celanese Engineered Materials is seeking a Field Technical Service engineer with strong polymer processing experience to join the Americas FTS organization. The role supports remote work with ideal locations in MI, IL, WI, MN, IN or OH.

You will independently design experiments to study polymer processing variables, document key results, and interface with product teams to support new product development. Travel up to 80% is expected to visit customers and Celanese sites.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of polymer processing experience required.
• BS in a related discipline preferred.
• Scientific molding certification is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with injection molding; other methods a plus.
• Experience supporting OEMs or tier suppliers is a plus.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAE design tools or process simulation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Solve customer polymer processing issues using fundamental knowledge.
• Independently design experiments to study processing variables.
• Document results and parameters in standardized forms.
• Interface with product teams to support new product development.
• Travel up to 80% to customer sites or Celanese sites.
• Collaborate with commercial team on customer projects and status updates.
• Develop processing recommendations for customers.
