Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Human Centered Design & UX Analyst to drive HCD and HFE across VA Connected Health, delivering insights from interviews, studies, and usability tests. You will craft journey maps, personas, and wireframes, supporting research across discover-to-validate phases, with accessibility and VA design alignment.

The role operates remotely within the United States on a growing team of senior practitioners, collaborating with product owners and clinicians to shape user-centered health tools.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of human-centered design and UX principles applied in professional contexts.
• Experience supporting qualitative research activities (interviews, focus groups, observation, usability testing).
• Ability to produce and maintain design research artifacts (journey maps, personas, process/maps, wireframes).
• Familiarity with Mural or similar collaborative whiteboard tools and facilitation skills.
• Knowledge of accessibility requirements including Section 508 and WCAG 2.2.
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Supports HCD/HFE studies using interviews, focus groups, observation, and usability testing.
• Translates research insights into actionable recommendations.
• Manages recruitment and scheduling for expert and Veteran participation.
• Develops HCD artifacts such as journey maps, personas, and wireframes.
• Supports field testing, UAT, pilots, and knowledge articles.
• Ensures alignment with VA Design System and Style Guide.
