Job summary

Rockland Trust is seeking a Commercial Review Appraiser to independently review externally prepared commercial real estate appraisal reports to support safe and sound credit decisions. This role serves as a key risk management partner and liaises with third‑party valuation providers, with remote work and quarterly in‑person meetings in Brockton, MA.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license in Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a commercial fee appraiser or commercial review appraiser in a banking environment preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to document complex valuation issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Review externally prepared commercial and investment residential appraisal reports.
• Assess reasonableness and supportability of assumptions, data, and conclusions.
• Ensure compliance with USPAP, FIRREA, and Rockland Trust standards.
• Document findings and recommendations for risk management stakeholders.
• Liaise with third‑party appraisers and valuation firms; communicate effectively with loan officers.

Education

Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license (Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island)
