Job summary

Canada Accounting Firm in the United States is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage a portfolio of 20–30 Canadian client accounts with full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll processing, and GST/HST compliance.

Applicants must have an accounting degree, a QBO certificate, 3+ years of remote bookkeeping, proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, and strong client communication. You will align a large portion of your workday with Eastern Time for real-time collaboration with the Canadian team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• At least 3 years of experience with remote bookkeeping and payroll for Canadian companies.
• QBO certificate.
• Experience using WagePoint and QBO Payroll.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for bookkeeping and Financial Statements.
• Knowledge of AI tools (Gemini, ChatGPT) and Financial Cents is a plus.
• Excellent customer management and planning skills.
• Honest, straightforward, very careful.

Responsibilities

• Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Bank-feed clearance, receipts clearance, transactions posting, reconciliation.
• Payroll: calculation of payroll source deductions and net pay; prepare Pd7A, ROE, T4, T4A forms.
• GST/HST preparation and filing.
• Financial Statements preparation.
• Assist in reviewing other clients if required.
• Assist in creating SOPs and training bookkeeper staffs.
• Proactive communication with clients to understand their needs and expectations.
