Job summary

Yingst Building Group is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter for residential remodeling projects in South Central Pennsylvania. You will lead field crews, coordinate with trade partners, and maintain craftsmanship and customer experience on occupied homes.

You’ll guide daily activities, train Carpenter I/II, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within quality standards. A hands-on leader with strong communication is essential to success at Yingst Building Group.

Qualifications

• Significant professional carpentry experience, with residential remodeling focus.
• Advanced knowledge of residential construction methods and best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, scopes of work, and schedules.
• Experience directing other carpenters and coordinating with trade partners.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Professional communication with homeowners and team members.
• Ability to balance hands-on carpentry with leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field execution of residential remodeling projects.
• Perform framing, cabinetry, doors/windows, trim, drywall, flooring, and exterior work.
• Read specifications, drawings, and project schedules; plan daily work.
• Coordinate carpenters, trade partners, materials, and jobsite activities.
• Provide coaching to Carpenter I and II; ensure workmanship meets standards.
• Monitor safety, cleanliness, and organization of job sites.
• Communicate project progress and issues to homeowners and supervisor.
• Identify shortages or changes early and adjust accordingly.
• Keep customers informed with professional updates throughout.
