Job summary

Yingst Building Group, LLC is seeking a Remodeling Carpenter II to join our residential remodeling team in the Harrisburg area. You will independently perform a wide range of remodeling tasks while developing toward a Lead Carpenter role.

You’ll apply carpentry experience to diverse projects, upholding Yingst Building Group’s standards for craftsmanship, professionalism, and customer experience on occupied homes.

Qualifications

• Previous professional carpentry or residential construction experience required; remodeling experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and work from construction drawings, scopes of work, and specifications.
• Proficiency with common hand and power tools used in residential construction.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled carpentry work including framing, drywall, cabinets, windows and doors, trim, flooring, exterior work, and other remodeling activities.
• Accurately measure, cut, assemble, install, and finish materials with limited supervision.
• Read and work from construction drawings, scopes of work, specifications, and work orders.
• Identify jobsite conditions and resolve routine construction and installation issues.
• Safely operate and maintain hand and power tools and other jobsite equipment.
• Assist with demolition, jobsite preparation, material handling, protection of finished surfaces, and cleanup as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe, and professional jobsites.
• Communicate job progress, material needs, questions, and potential issues to the Lead Carpenter or Remodeling Supervisor.
• Work effectively with homeowners, YBG employees, and trade partners while maintaining a professional presence on occupied jobsites.
• Support and provide guidance to less-experienced carpenters when appropriate.
• Follow all company safety policies and jobsite procedures.

We are looking for an experienced Remodeling Carpenter II to join our growing Remodeling team. This position is ideal for a skilled carpenter who can independently perform a wide range of residential remodeling work while continuing to develop toward a Lead Carpenter role.

You’ll work on a variety of remodeling projects, applying your carpentry experience and problem-solving skills while maintaining YBG’s standards for craftsmanship, professionalism, and the customer experience.

Successful Candidate Profile

You are an experienced carpenter who takes pride in your work and can be trusted to complete assigned tasks correctly with limited supervision. You understand residential construction, can adapt to the challenges that come with remodeling existing homes, and know when to solve a problem independently and when to ask for direction.

You are dependable, professional, respectful of customers and their homes, and interested in continuing to grow your skills and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Previous professional carpentry or residential construction experience required; remodeling experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of residential construction methods and materials.
• Experience with multiple areas of carpentry, including framing, trim, doors and windows, cabinetry, drywall, flooring, and related remodeling work.
• Ability to accurately measure, cut, assemble, and install materials.
• Ability to read and work from construction drawings, scopes of work, and specifications.
• Proficiency with common hand and power tools used in residential construction.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to communicate professionally with homeowners, coworkers, and trade partners.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of residential construction work, including regularly lifting and carrying materials and equipment up to 75 pounds.
