Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector in Redondo Beach, CA seeks a Reliability Systems Engineer – Level 4 to join our team. The role focuses on reliability predictions, FMEA, and reliability block diagrams to support design reviews and failure investigations.

Candidates should have advanced engineering credentials and active U.S. government clearances (SCI/SSBI or Top Secret) and be prepared for a thorough access process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8+ years of engineering experience
• Master’s degree in STEM with 6+ years of engineering experience
• PhD in STEM with 4+ years of engineering experience
• Understanding of how to perform and assess various reliability predictions
• Familiarity with modeling/simulation software tools used for Reliability analysis
• Familiarity with understanding and interpreting electrical schematics/drawings, functional block diagrams, and ability to accurately create reliability block diagrams
• Experience with unit or system level FMEA based on standard commercial best practices
• Active SCI access with SSBI in last 5 years or Top Secret clearance with SSBI in last 5 years and ability to obtain SCI access

Responsibilities

• Lead reliability support to design through tradeoffs, predictions, FMEA, and failure investigations
• Create reliability block diagrams/models reflecting functions and failure modes
• Collaborate with engineering to develop technical reliability solutions
• Apply probability and statistics to non-standard configurations
• Use standard industry tools to conduct reliability analyses
