Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking a Systems Engineer Level 3/4 to join the Space Systems Sector for Mission Operations Factory Support.

You will prepare for and execute Spacecraft Operations & Maintenance, working with a team to ensure rapid resolution of anomalies and restoration of operations. The role requires heavy emphasis on root cause analysis, coordination with customers and SETAs, and documentation to transfer knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years of related experience; OR a Master's degree in STEM with 3 years of related experience; OR, a PhD with 1 year of related experience
• Experience with determining root cause and correction actions
• Experience with Operations and Maintenance of Space Systems
• Candidate must have an active SCI at time of application OR
• Candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) at time of application and prior to start date as well as the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain an active SCI prior to start date. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to the candidate’s maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call support for resolution and lead return to operations following anomalies
• Perform root cause and corrective action analysis in response to system anomalies
• Contribute and present to program and customer leadership on system state of health (SOH), anomalies, and other critical needs or topics
• Contribute to topics and discussions with external interfaces (Customers and SETAs) and sub-contractors
• Foster a culture of knowledge transfer through documentation and recording of system operations, hardware, and software
• Demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business
• Must be able to work as an effective member of a team, be self-motivated, and work under general direction while independently determining and developing approaches to solutions.
• Possibility of travel to support offsite meetings (not mandatory)
