Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Solvay Mill is seeking a Reliability Engineer to strategically plan, organize, and execute programs designed to enhance and maintain machinery reliability for optimal mill performance.

The role involves leading reliability initiatives, providing technical direction to maintenance teams, and driving predictive maintenance to prevent production disruptions, with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years reliability experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Self-starter capable of effectively managing multiple projects.
• Proven interpersonal and communication abilities supporting cross-functional collaboration.
• Project management skills with clear timelines and defined agendas.
• Strong customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing reliability programs from conception to implementation and supporting daily and annual maintenance shutdowns.
• Delivering technical direction and support to maintenance and operating teams to ensure seamless mill operations.
• Implementing equipment tracking and rebuild strategies using predictive and preventative maintenance to pre-empt issues.
• Championing safety and environmental standards with focus on electrical equipment reliability.

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably mechanical, electrical, industrial or paper science engineering)
