Job summary

Smurfit WestRock is seeking a Senior Electrical Reliability Engineer to investigate and resolve electrical reliability issues at the mill. The role requires collaboration with maintenance teams and stakeholders to improve safety and equipment reliability, support outages, and drive continuous improvement in power distribution and related systems.

The ideal candidate will lead technical initiatives, stay current with NEC/NFPA70E standards, and guide RCA efforts while ensuring reliable operation

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
5+ years of work experience in electrical engineering in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of safe electrical work practices and industry codes.
Knowledge of three phase electrical systems and AC/DC motors and controls.
Experience with relay coordination, arc flash hazard analysis and short circuit analysis is preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as SME for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of critical electrical systems and equipment.
Collaborate with maintenance teams and other stakeholders to identify and resolve electrical safety and reliability opportunities.
Provide technical expertise to improve electrical equipment reliability and redesign as needed.
Support outage planning, PMs development, and continuous improvement projects to enhance reliability.
