Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Reliability Engineer in Alabama to improve mill equipment reliability and reduce downtime. You will lead lubrication programs, monitor condition, and drive RCFA-based improvements while collaborating with maintenance and production teams.

The role requires an engineering degree, 2+ years of reliability experience in manufacturing, and strong analytical and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (preferred).
2+ years of reliability experience in pulp and paper or related manufacturing.
Strong engineering, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with predictive maintenance, reliability improvement, and RCFA methodologies.
Effective communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Manage lubrication, inspection, and condition monitoring programs.
Lead equipment reliability improvement efforts to increase availability and uptime.
Reduce maintenance costs through analysis of repetitive failures and predictive maintenance data.
Drive the Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) process and implement corrective actions.
Provide leadership and daily technical assistance for reliability-related issues.
Support outage planning, project implementation, and contractor management.
Partner with Maintenance and Production teams to strengthen reliability culture.
