Job summary

UKG is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the Engineering Platform Continuous Delivery team. You will design and build automation that orchestrates multi-step deployments across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, improving developer productivity and deployment reliability.

The role emphasizes CI/CD, GitHub Actions, and self-hosted runners, with opportunities to mentor peers, implement governing DPR workflows, and enhance deployment tooling across UKG Pro.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional software development or platform/release engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in JavaScript/Node.js or Python for automation and tooling.
• Extensive experience with CI/CD practices, pipeline design, and software delivery automation.
• Proficiency with version control systems like GitHub and work tracking systems like JIRA.
• Understanding of cloud technologies (GCP preferred) and DevOps principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation tools that orchestrate multi-step deployment processes.
• Build PowerShell and Bash scripts for Windows service management, IIS operations, and environment configuration.
• Continuously eliminate manual toil by automating repetitive operational tasks.
• Explore and implement AI-powered tooling to enhance developer productivity and deployment insight.
• Manage and evolve the server inventory system and GitHub Actions runner infrastructure.
• Design Deployment Protection Rule (DPR) workflows to enforce change control at the pipeline level.
