Job summary

UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) is seeking a Software Engineer III- Eng. You will design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and Azure, and run containerized apps with Docker and Kubernetes to enable scalable deployments.

You will use Python and Ansible to automate provisioning, apply GitOps practices, and implement robust observability with Grafana and Prometheus while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or DevOps engineering.
• Hands-on experience with continuous integration and delivery tools such as GitHub Actions.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
• Strong understanding of version control systems such as Git and modern development practices including GitOps.
• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and similar tools.
• Develop and manage cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and Azure.
• Build and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes for scalable deployments.
• Implement secure access practices including IAM, secrets management, and Workload Identity Federation.
• Use Ansible and Python to automate configuration and provisioning.
• Apply GitOps practices to improve deployment consistency and traceability.
• Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting with Grafana and Prometheus.
• Improve system reliability through HA design, DR planning, and performance optimization.
• Lead design discussions, review code, and guide engineers toward best practices.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
