Job summary

Qualus Corporation seeks experienced Relay Testing Professionals at Level III, Senior, and Lead levels to commission and test protection and control schemes for substations and plants across the US. Responsibilities include end-to-end testing of IEDs, reading diagrams, and leading project tasks with strong mentoring elements.

Travel is a key component, with ~3 weeks on-site per client engagement and paid housing, plus relocation/sign-on incentives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations.
• Associate degree holders and equivalents may be Technicians; Bachelor's degree may classify as Engineers.
• Experience with volt-ohm-meter and hand tools.
• Experience reading One Line, AC & DC Elementary and Wiring diagrams.
• Ability to perform regular field work in varied environments and weather.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents throughout the drawing set (Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, Panel Arrangement, BOM).
• Performs End-To-End testing.
• Performs IED testing with test sets (Doble 6150, Omicron, Manta).
• Identifies risks associated with testing and commissioning those schemes.
• Develops test plans, risk assessments and practical protection & control applications.
• Analyzes scope and drawings to create functional guidelines and risk assessments.
• Leads people and tasks on projects with well-defined scopes of work.
• Performs weekly site safety inspections.
• Supports company and customer policies.
