Job summary

Qualus is seeking experienced Relay Testing Professionals at Level III, Senior, and Lead levels in Field Engineering. They are passionate about power system protection, technical excellence, and mentoring the next generation of field technicians and engineers.

This role is responsible for commissioning and testing protection & control schemes and systems for customers’ electric utility substations and plants, including IEDs, SCADA, and IEC-61850 interfaces.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations.
• Associate degree holders may be technicians while Bachelor's degree holders may be engineers.
• Experience reading One Line, AC/DC diagrams.
• Ability to perform field work in varied environments.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents (Single Line, wiring, BOM).
• Performs End-To-End testing.
• Performs IED testing (manual and automated).
• Identify risks in testing and commissioning.
• Develops test plans and risk assessments.
• Leads tasks within projects or provides technical leadership.
• Performs weekly site safety inspections.
