Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in protective relaying for utility substations.
• Experience testing medium- to high-voltage protection systems (5kV–500kV).
• Strong knowledge of microprocessor-based relays.
• Experience with modern relay test platforms.
• Solid understanding of utility safety rules and lockout/tagout.
• Ability to interpret protection diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings and tailboards in the field.
• Perform protective relay testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and commissioning on HV systems.
• Test and validate transmission and distribution protection schemes (distance, differential, overcurrent, bus protection).
• Verify control circuits for transformers, feeders, and bus systems.
• Support outage planning, energization, and restoration activities.
• Create and maintain accurate test reports and field documentation.
• Mentor onsite technicians and coordinate with project managers and utility customers.
