Job summary

Electric Power Systems in Minneapolis, MN seeks a Senior Relay Technician to lead protection and control systems, overseeing advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and full project execution for substations and industrial facilities.

You will manage complex field projects, mentor field personnel, and interact with customers while ensuring safe, reliable operations and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screen required for safety-sensitive role.
• Criminal background check required prior to employment.
• Willingness to overtime and travel out of town as needed.
• Must have valid driver’s license and maintain safe driving record.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing and repairing protective relays.
• Ability to troubleshoot distribution and transmission controls circuits.
• Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

• Lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies.
• Analyze protection schemes and manage field projects.
• Perform installation, commissioning, testing and functional testing on relay panels and equipment.
• Read and validate protection/schemes, diagrams and configurations.
• Calibrate and verify relays’ performance.
