Job summary

Electric Power Systems seeks a Senior Relay Technician to lead protection and control testing across substations and industrial facilities in North America. You will perform installation, commissioning, and advanced testing while guiding field teams to deliver safe, reliable operation.

Ideal candidates have strong relay knowledge, project leadership experience, and customer-facing skills to interface with utilities and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screen required.
• Criminal background check required.
• Overtime and travel may be required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in substations.
• Knowledge of relay test software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings on job sites and enforce safety policies.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and systems.
• Install, commission, test, and validate substation control circuits on relay panels.
• Perform advanced end-to-end and functional testing with relay test equipment and software.
• Read and interpret protection schematics and system configurations.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to field personnel.
