Job summary

PALMS Insurance, a NextEra Energy company, leads specialized reinsurance claims management across underwriting, finance and legal teams. This role oversees leadership, budgeting and operations of three Claims Departments handling Personal Injury, Property Damage and Company Property Damage claims, driving SOX compliance and accurate reserves.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience: 10+ years in claims management.
• Supervisor/management experience: 5+ years.

Responsibilities

• Leads all aspects of personnel management including hiring, training, performance management, coaching, and direction.
• Directs and manages all aspects of the Company's Claims Departments including budgeting, auditing, SOX compliance, case reviews and evaluations, and technical/software evaluation.
• Provides quarterly updates to Executives, Risk Management, Excess Insurers, Fleet and Accounting on liability exposures and reserve changes.
• Attends Excess Insurers quarterly meetings and ensures SOX processes, reserve analyses, and billing accuracy.
• Manages injuries and damages reserve account and works with in-house Counsel on litigated files.
• Participates in mediations, pre-trial conferences, and strategic rounds.
