Exponent is seeking a Senior Managing Scientist for the Chemical Regulation and Food Safety Practice. Location is flexible.

You will provide strategic regulatory expertise and oversee complex client engagements, leading multidisciplinary teams and driving business development in regulatory and sustainability markets. You will mentor staff, expand the firm's presence, and deliver high-quality regulatory solutions across diverse industries.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree required; MS/PhD preferred in a science-related field.
• Ten or more years of EPA TSCA regulatory experience with US EPA TSCA regulations.
• Ten or more years of consulting or government regulatory experience.
• Proven track record of business generation and attracting clients or funding.
• Experience in regulatory compliance and risk assessment for product stewardship and sustainability.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without immigration sponsorship.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to edit and proofread technical documents.
• Detail-oriented, able to work independently and manage time; prioritize multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and provide strategic regulatory oversight.
• Drive practice growth through business development and thought leadership.
• Mentor and develop technical staff within the regulatory practice.
• Expand Exponent's presence in regulatory, product stewardship, and sustainability markets.
• Develop and manage client relationships; ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Conduct regulatory compliance and risk assessments for diverse client engagements.
• Oversee project delivery, invoicing, budgets, and client communications.
• Provide regulatory and technical review and quality control support.
• Synthesize technical and regulatory information for clients and regulators.
