Job summary

Exponent seeks a Senior Scientist for its Chemical Regulation & Food Safety Practice in Washington, DC. You will oversee project management, regulatory analysis, and client liaison to deliver regulatory and technical solutions for complex chemical safety challenges.

The role requires a strong TSCA background, clear communication, and a collaborative mindset to support product stewardship initiatives across multiple regulatory programs and clients.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree required; MS/PhD preferred in a science field.
• Experience with TSCA and other environmental regulations.
• Three years of consulting or government regulatory experience.
• Must be detail oriented and able to manage time independently.
• Excellent communication, writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track client projects, deliverables and budgets.
• Collaborate with internal project teams on client projects and tasks.
• Interface with clients as well as EPA and State regulators.
• Apply regulatory insights to complex client challenges and TSCA knowledge.
• Prepare and submit regulatory approval documents.
• Provide regulatory and technical review and quality control for TSCA projects.
