Exponent is a premier engineering and scientific consulting firm seeking a Senior Scientist for our Chemical Regulation & Food Safety Practice in the Washington, DC area. You will lead regulatory projects, engage with clients, and coordinate budgets and deliverables to support TSCA compliance and product stewardship initiatives.

Qualifications

• B.S. required; MS/PhD preferred in a science field.
• Experience with TSCA and environmental regulations.
• Three years of consulting or government regulatory experience.
• Detail oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication, writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Experience with AI tools and Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Managing and tracking client projects, project deliverables and budgets
• Collaborating with internal project teams to discuss client projects, tasks, deliverables, and budgets
• Interacting with clients as well as EPA and State regulators
• Build upon understanding of chemical regulatory policies, including TSCA, and apply regulatory insights to client challenges
• Demonstrated experience supporting product stewardship initiatives and applying product stewardship concepts to real-world challenges
• Preparing and submitting regulatory approval documents
• Providing regulatory and technical review and quality control support for TSCA and product stewardship projects
