Job summary

Sound Transit seeks an experienced regulatory compliance leader to manage its permitting framework for capital projects across multiple jurisdictions. You will mentor project managers, coordinate with legal teams, and drive process improvements to shorten delivery timelines.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and several years of leadership in permitting, with strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations; travel and field oversight may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Public Policy, or closely related field.
  • Five years of progressive experience in regulatory processes for construction, land use, and environmental regulation compliance.
  • Three years of leadership, budgetary, planning and workforce management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, direction, and day-to-day management of the corridor permitting project team.
  • Manages comprehensive regulatory code compliance framework across varied jurisdictions.
  • Leads complex permitting issues for capital projects across all life cycle phases.
  • Performs regulatory analysis related to codes, land use, and environmental considerations.
  • Negotiates regulatory strategies with third-party partners and agencies.
