Job summary

The Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Health Care Practitioner Regulation, is seeking a Regulatory Specialist III in Tallahassee to manage licensure processes for CNA, LPN, RN, and APRN. You will perform professional and regulatory activities, provide guidance, process licensure applications, renewals, reactivations, and inquiries, and support staff.

You must understand Florida statutes and board rules, communicate clearly, and work in a high-volume, on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to compile, organize and analyze data.
• Ability to investigate, analyze, and resolve complaints.
• Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies and procedures for licensing and regulation of professionals and consumer protection.
• Ability to provide consultative assistance to others.
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary processor of administrative services for Board of Nursing applicants and licensees (CNA, LPN, RN, APRN).
• Handle candidate performance reports, licensure reactivations, renewals and continuing education inquiries, refund requests, etc.
• Provide backup support for all administrative staff and act as SME to office staff and customers.
• Respond to high level telephonic and email inquiries regarding licensure applications and requirements.
• Interpret statutes and rules governing licensure and provide recommendations on complex regulatory matters.
