Job summary

Saint Peter's Healthcare System is seeking a Sr. Registration Representative in the Department of Surgery. The role requires accurate data entry into EMR, patient scheduling, and careful verification of referrals, authorizations, and payments.

You will greet patients, triage requests, and ensure smooth throughput across sessions. Responsibilities include pre-registering patients, handling medical records tasks, and maintaining professional communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years related secretarial work experience. (60 WPM required).
• Ability to read and write well enough to type, edit, and proof business correspondence and prepare reports.
• Understanding of department policies and operations to assist with meetings and routine inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduling and registration with attention to detail.
• Enter patient demographics, insurance, referrals, and physician information into EMR registers.
• Triages calls and messages, dispatches requests to appropriate personnel, and documents encounters.
• Pre-register and obtain referrals in advance; prepare for upcoming patient sessions.
• Handle Medical Records and clerical tasks like faxing, scanning, pulling charts, and filing.
• Collect, deposit and log patient payments per hospital policies.
