Job summary

Saint Peter’s Health Care System in New Jersey is seeking a Sr. Registration Representative in the Department of Surgery.

You will handle scheduling and registration, enter patient demographics, insurance, referrals, and physician information into EMR, and verify pre-certifications and authorizations prior to procedures. You will triage calls, pre-register patients, perform medical records and clerical tasks, and collect payments.

Qualifications

• Three years of related secretarial work experience.
• Ability to read, write, and type dictation and business correspondence.
• Strong understanding of department policies and operations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for diverse internal and external contacts.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and register patients; collect demographic, insurance, and physician information.
• Verify referrals, pre-certifications, and authorizations prior to procedures.
• Triage calls and messages; provide department information to patients and staff.
• Pre-register and prepare for upcoming sessions and appointments.
• Perform Medical Record and clerical tasks (faxing, scanning into EMR, pulling charts).
• Collect, deposit, and log patient payments per hospital policies.
